IAM Live: SEP Summit to examine UPC strategy, UK FRAND developments and new markets
IAM Live: SEP Summit will be held in person for the first time this year, drawing together industry leaders for an expert-level conference in London.
Disruptive innovation and the resulting technological convergence and a shifting policy landscape represent both opportunity and risk for SEP owners and their licensees. Taking place on 11 and 12 September, this is your opportunity to connect with patent professionals as they share insights into how to navigate SEP licensing at this pivotal time.
Building on the success of our virtual event, this year’s agenda includes interactive panels and masterclasses as well as generous networking breaks and a drinks reception.
A panel on ‘Bracing for Europe’s landmark changes’ will examine tactical responses to the European Commission’s proposed SEP regulation and how strategies must shift to appease its aims. A second panel considers the UPC as a new chess piece in SEP/FRAND disputes and the verdict so far for patent owners.
The first day of the event continues with masterclasses on the successful licensing of new markets and technology spaces and fine-tuning the art of SEP licensing negotiations.
Day two will see expert speakers tackle how courts in the UK are flipping the FRAND dispute script and whether Licensing Negotiation Groups are a viable strategy in SEP licensing.
The day concludes with a fireside chat on China’s evolving role in SEP licensing and litigation and a panel focusing on multimedia as a new frontier in SEP licensing.
