Mariano is an Argentine lawyer and IP agent with more than 20 years of practical and academic experience dealing with the full range of IP issues at the local (Argentina), regional (Latin America) and international levels.
He joined Moeller IP Advisors in 2005 where has been advising clients in legal strategies related to the registration, protection, management and enforcement of the whole range of IP rights including patents, trademarks, designs, domain names, advertisement claims, copyright as well as anti-counterfeiting, transfer of technology and regulatory affairs matters in Argentina, Latin America and other regions.
In 2015, Moeller appointed Mariano Director of Business and Professional Development, in November 2017, he became a partner at the firm and in 2018 the Head of the Regional Legal Department.
One of his main external responsibilities is maintaining and expanding worldwide relationships with leading individuals, industries and institutions.
Internally, Mariano leads a team of lawyers and technical experts including patent engineers dealing with issues such as patent and IP litigation, sanitary regulatory affairs, personal data protection and other legal areas related to innovation and technology migrating to the digital world.
Mariano regularly teaches various IP courses as an adjunct professor at Austral and San Andres Universities (Argentina) as well as an foreign visiting professor at Chicago- Kent College of Law (USA).
He has written several articles and lectured on topics including Latin American Patent and Trademark Law, Sanitary Regulatory Affairs, The Madrid & Hague Systems for the International Registration of Trademark and Design Rights, as well as on IP Management and Innovation.
His academic background is a Law degree with a specialization in Administrative Law from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina, 2001). In 2002, he became an Argentine IP Agent. He then completed a LLM in International IP Law with high honors from Chicago-Kent (USA, 2004) finally another LL.M. in Law and Economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Argentina, 2008).
Mariano has been recognized by Managing Intellectual Property as an “IP Star Individual” every year since 2015 and internationally recognized IP publications have described Mariano as:

Whenever Mariano is not working or traveling, he loves to spend time with his family and friends. He is an avid tester of new cuisines and enjoys live music and theater among other forms of artistic expressions.
