Steve Pomraning is a licensing executive with over 30 years of success in establishing programs and generating significant value from intellectual property (“IP”) assets. Most recently, he was Vice President – Licensing Executive for Intellectual Ventures and led the worldwide enforcement and licensing of patents focused on video content delivery, intelligent vehicles and the internet of things (“IoT”).

Prior to Intellectual Ventures, Steve was a Vice President with InterDigital where he negotiated and closed numerous patent license arrangements relating to wireless and video standards, both renewals and with new mobile phone licensees. He also advocated InterDigital's early membership in Avanci’s automotive patent pool.

Steve began his IP licensing career at AT&T and Bell Labs, and has personally closed >$1B (US) of international transactions for large operating companies (e.g., AT&T, Lucent, Bell Labs, Agere Systems, Honeywell, etc.) as well as smaller non-practicing entities (e.g., IPValue, Intellectual Ventures, InterDigital, etc.). This was achieved by negotiating hundreds of patent license and technology transfer arrangements, as well as sale, acquisition, joint-development and venture-related deals relating to scores of physical science-based technologies and markets. He has experience leading collaborative cross-functional teams at the nexus of technical, business and legal talent.

Steve holds a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Lehigh University. Prior to IP licensing, he began his career as a cleanroom engineer and product manager in AT&T’s optoelectronic business.
