REN Yanfei is a senior associate based in the firm’s Shenzhen Office, where she has been practicing since 2015.
Yanfei advises, on a frequent basis, the clients on their overall brand protection strategy from both administrative and judicial perspective. She is capable of providing tailored legal solutions from investigation and evidence gathering to the administrative enforcement and civil action against trademark infringement, unfair competition and copyright infringement, Customs border protection as well as criminal enforcement action against trademark counterfeiting.
She is a diligent and self-motivated lawyer who has aggressively advocated her clients’ IP interests in courtrooms, through which she manages to secure millions of damages for brand owners.
Her clients include a dozen Fortune 500 and industrial leader corporations in FMCG, fashion, jewelry and luxury industry.
Her recent work includes:
- Representing Luk Fook in winning a trademark infringement and unfair competition litigation against a copycat, obtaining damages of over 6 million. The case was selected as one of the Exemplary Trademark cases of 2019 in Shenzhen and the Deals of the Year 2020 by China Business Law Journal;
- Representing Dyson in winning a trademark infringement litigation against a local infringer, which leads to the judicial well-known trademark recognition of the trademark “Dyson” in Class 7;
- Representing top golf brands in eradicating the counterfeiting network and securing punitive damages of over 2 million;
- Representing New Balance in initiating a series of trademark infringement and unfair competition litigations against half a dozen blatant copycats, obtaining cessation and damages totaling over 20 million.
