Neurosurgery Visiting Sub-Internship (MENSU-501)

A four-week neurosurgery sub-internship (MENSU-501) for visiting fourth-year students, designed to simulate the intern year: students round with residents, see consults, admissions and post-operative patients, take day call and scrub on level-appropriate cases, spending two weeks at each of two of Baylor's five neurosurgery teaching hospitals. Each student completes a neurosurgery clinical checklist and gives a short case presentation at the department's weekly Grand Rounds. Applications go through AAMC VSLO on a rolling basis, and applicants are also asked to email the neurosurgery office and Dr. Gadgil.
