About this opportunity
A one-month neurosurgery elective, based mainly at Saint Marys Hospital on Mayo Clinic's Level 1 trauma service. Students rotate on four neurosurgeons' services with daily rounds, didactic lectures, bedside teaching, outpatient clinic time and on-call duties, and may scrub as second assistants. Candidates must be in their final year of medical school, in good academic standing, and have passed USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1. The Rochester campus accepts students from all international medical schools, who must also pass USMLE Step 1 and pay a $350 fee. Applications are accepted only through AAMC VSLO in quarterly windows, such as Dec. 1 to Dec. 31 for rotations beginning April to June.
