About this opportunity
The Infectious Disease Sciences (IDS) Summer Scholars Internship Program on Infectious Diseases in the Immunocompromised Host provides hands-on research experience with faculty mentors, clinical shadowing opportunities at UW Medical Center and Fred Hutch, laboratory observation and practical experience, and presentation opportunities. Research areas include Antimicrobial Stewardship, Herpesvirus and hepatitis B Infections, Human Microbiota, Immunotherapy, Infection Prevention, Math Modeling, Respiratory Infections, and Viral Infections. Projects may involve clinical research (chart reviews, epidemiological studies, clinical shadowing), laboratory research (assay development, bench-based techniques, sample testing), or computational/modeling work (clinical trial modeling, immune response modeling).
