The Foundation for SMFM recognizes the importance of identifying promising residents who will be leaders in maternal-fetal medicine (MFM). The Resident Scholars Program provides mentoring and educational opportunities during the final two years of obstetrics and gynecology residency, including a stipend to attend two SMFM Pregnancy Meetings and a virtual research design and biostatistics course. Residency institutions sponsor selected Scholars with a one-time $1,000 tuition payment upon Scholar selection to the Foundation for SMFM. Candidates must be PGY-3 residents by July 1 of the application year in an accredited residency program in obstetrics and gynecology in the United States or Canada.
