Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AspireMed (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including individual users, organization administrators, and visitors.

AspireMed reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account on AspireMed. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user is under 16, we will terminate the account and delete associated data.

3. User Accounts and Conduct

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

When using AspireMed, you agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information in your profile or when interacting with the platform
  • Use the platform to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Platform or extract data without prior written authorization
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures, access controls, or rate limits
  • Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Misrepresent your identity, credentials, career stage, or institutional affiliations
  • Use the Platform for any purpose unrelated to medical education and career development

4. AI-Powered Features

AspireMed uses artificial intelligence to provide opportunity matching, search assistance, and the Altus AI chatbot. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs are informational only. Recommendations, match scores, and chatbot responses are generated by AI and are not professional advice. They do not constitute medical advice, career counseling, or endorsements of any opportunity or institution.
  • AI is not always accurate. AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or incomplete analysis. You are responsible for independently verifying all information, including opportunity details, eligibility requirements, and application deadlines, before making any decisions.
  • Your data is processed by AI providers. When you use AI features, relevant profile information is sent to third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic and OpenAI) for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • Do not submit sensitive information to the chatbot. Avoid sharing information such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, or protected health information through AI-powered features.

5. Opportunity Listings

Opportunity listings on AspireMed are sourced from publicly available information and from organizations that post directly on the platform. AspireMed does not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing
  • That any listed opportunity is currently accepting applications
  • That listed eligibility requirements are exhaustive or up to date
  • That any application submitted through or informed by the platform will be received or considered

Users are responsible for verifying all opportunity details directly with the sponsoring institution before applying. AspireMed does not participate in or influence any application, selection, or admissions process.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any content you submit to AspireMed, including profile information and saved preferences. By submitting content, you grant AspireMed a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and improving the Platform.

Opportunity listings and organization profiles sourced from external websites remain the property of their respective owners and are displayed for informational purposes.

The AspireMed name, logo, and all related branding are trademarks of AspireMed, Inc. and may not be used without written permission.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

AspireMed reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, without prior notice. We may also remove content that violates these terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

AspireMed is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not endorse any particular opportunity, institution, or program listed on the Platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AspireMed, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or unauthorized access to your account
  • Missed application deadlines or opportunities
  • Reliance on AI-generated recommendations or match scores
  • Inaccurate or outdated opportunity information
  • Actions taken by third-party institutions or organizations

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to AspireMed in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
